CAC-40
From Reuters Financial Glossary
The principal French stock index covering 40 French equities, although the newer CAC-General, which covers 100 stocks, is more widely used. Both of these indices are capitalization-weighted averages. The CAC-40 is the basis for index futures and options traded on the MATIF and MONEP exchanges in Paris.
