Instant messaging is the act of instantly communicating between two or more people over a network such as the Internet. Historically traders have adopted the various public instant messaging services (AOL Instant Messenger, MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger) to help them communicate with each other and their clients.
More recently enterprise instant messaging for instant messaging within an organization have been available from a number of vendors including Microsoft, IBM software vendors have supplied.
