LBBW was formed in 1999 and is the largest bank in the southwest of Germany. It numbers among the 50 largest credit institutions worldwide. LBBW serves as clearing bank for its catchment area, provides commercial banking services in competition with private sector banks, and acts as a savings bank in the territory of the state capital of Stuttgart.
