Municipal Notes

Short-term US securities, typically out to three years maximum, issued by state and local governments and agencies. Commonly known as Munis. Types of municipal note include tax anticipation notes (TANs), revenue anticipation notes (RANs), grant anticipation notes (GANs), bond anticipation notes (BANs) and tax-exempt commercial paper.
