OIBA

From Reuters Financial Glossary

Operating Income Before Amortization is an alternative financial measure that has gained currency among some e-commerce companies to present their financial results. OIBA is not considered a Generally Accepted Accounting Principle (GAAP) by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Companies such as Expedia Inc. and Marchex Inc. suggest that OIBA be considered in addition to, but not in isolation, or as a substitute for, GAAP accounting.
