Problems
From Reuters Financial Glossary
[edit]
Known Bugs/Issues
- User confusion between "Go" as opposed to "Search" (suggest to change Go to Title and Search to Text - ie Go is searching titles and Text is searching the full text).

New Bugs/Issues
- The login-screen is ugly. Textst move through eachother and becomes unreadeble from The information provided here is being provided freely, and that no kind of agreement or contract is . Effeietsanders 14:56, 20 Feb 2006 (Eastern Standard Time)
- What browser/OS are you using? I tried IE and Firefox and couldn't see the problem. Roddy MacFarquhar 16:51, 20 Feb 2006 (Eastern Standard Time)
- I use FF and WinME. Maybe the screensize has some meaning? I use 1024*768. Effeietsanders 18:32, 20 Feb 2006 (Eastern Standard Time)

Resolved Bugs/Issues
- Emailing new account activation doesn't work yet
- Need to test out mailing forgotten passwords
- Community portal mostly empty
- Still need official Main Page, About, Disclaimer, and Copyright (copyleft) text
- Some issues with utf-8 translation - eg look at terms beginning with S
- This was as simple as running iconv on the database dump and re-importing it (with the bonus that this means the database backups work reasonably well)
- The skin is no longer fixed width
- I had a similar problem. I'm using FF and Win98 at 800x600 (soon to be upgraded, but I'm currently using about a six year old computer). I see when I read the regluar glossary pages it looks like you've hardcoded the pages to be optimized at 1024x768. This is not the way that the Wikipedia is set up. - The 1024 width is hardcoded into the skin which was done by our design team. I really like the rest of the skin but I agree that there's no sound reason to make people using narrower displays scroll. I will look at updating it Roddy MacFarquhar 22:20, 29 Mar 2006 (Eastern Standard Time)
- It is one of the cleanest customized skins that I've seen for the MediaWiki software. The other complaint that I have so far, besides the hardcoded 1024 width, is that Discussion pages, even if they do not exist, still show as a blue-link instead of a red-link. I could always create my own skin, but that's a PITA. BlankVerse 16:42, 30 Mar 2006 (Eastern Standard Time)
- Search results block some common words that happen to have special meaning in a financial context (like put)
- Read the MediaWiki manual. There should be a sysop- or developer-editable page with the list of excluded words. BlankVerse 16:44, 30 Mar 2006 (Eastern Standard Time)
- Fixed MySQL to accept three letter words in searches (http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Short_words_in_searches)
- <math></math> markup doesn't work. Looks like we can fix this http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Running_MediaWiki_on_Windows#Texvc
- This is now supported, in the end we used this solution http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Running_MediaWiki_on_Windows#Another_way_to_use_math_under_windows
