User's Guide
From Reuters Financial Glossary
These are not set in stone, but instead intended as rough guidelines to what constitutes appropriate and inappropriate behavior on this site. The Financial Glossary is an experiment, and is always-changing. We expect community behaviors and etiquette to shift and change over time, of course, but for now:
General Guidelines
1. Contributors to the Glossary must expect their edits to be improved, discussed, and changed by others. Edits to your contributions should be viewed in the spirit of improving the Glossary, not as a judgment on yourself or your abilities.
2. When editing pre-existing contributions, constructive criticism is always appreciated. Respect other contributors. When editing another user's contributions on the Glossary, please try to remain friendly, supportive, and civil.
3. Write clearly and concisely. Cite other pages in the glossary and outside sources as necessary. Write what you know and what you think will be helpful to others. Improve the clarity of existing pages. Add your knowledge to the Financial Glossary.
4. If necessary, use the "discuss" section of pages to talk about content changes, rather than on the page itself.
5. No unauthorized use of copyrighted works is permitted; nor is self-advertising, spamming, vandalism, defamation, or personal attacks.
