Barrels Per Day

Often abbreviated to bpd. It refers to the daily rate of production or the flow of crude oil or oil products from an oilfield or a country, or through a pipeline or a refinery. A barrel of oil is equal to 42 US gallons, 35 Imperial gallons or about 0.136 tonnes, depending on the specific gravity of the oil. There are approximately seven barrels in a tonne. The precise figure depends on the specific gravity.
