Flags
A flag is a short term chart pattern that normally lasts little more than a month and represents a brief consolidation before the previous market move is resumed. It resembles a parallelogram inclined against the overall trend. Flags, also known as pennants, are among the most reliable continuation patterns in technical analysis and rarely produce a trend reversal.
