Wholesale goods are goods sold in large quantities; wholesale markets are markets where large volumes of an item are bought and sold; wholesale traders occupy an intermediate stage in the distribution chain between the manufacturer and the final retailer. In the financial industry, a wholesaler is a broker-dealer who trades with other broker-dealers, rather than with retail investors.
